Bald is the new Black

Every year there seems to be a hairstyle trend that takes over the world. In 2006, Posh gave us the asymmetrical bob that later became known as the Posh. Then in 2007, little Suri Curise brought the original bob back "in-style". And of course, in 2008, Rihanna made it cool for hot girls to rock very short hair.

Now in 2009, another hairstyle is popping up on many celebrity heads. I am talking about the half-bald look. We first saw it on Cassie in April:

It really shocked the world. Why would such a pretty girl (she's a former model) shave half her hair off???...I was appalled. But then a few weeks later, her good fried LaLa Vasquez decided that she didn't need the hair on the right side of her head and shaved it off too! Hopefully Camelo berated her for her foolish decision. (Maybe that's why I haven't seen any pics of her out recently. He's probably keeping her locked up in the attic until her hair grows out):

So then we had the gorgeous Rihanna deciding to go even further by shaving the sides and back of her head, all while leaving a generous amount of hair on top. Basically a 2009 version of the mohawk:I am sad to have written 2 posts in a matter of one month disagreeing with Rihanna on her fashion decisions. But this is just ridiculous. I think it's obvious that these girls are vying for attention. I must say that the least offensive of these is LaLa's. I think her's actually looks like she put some thought into it instead of looking like she fell asleep next to an electric-razor.

Hopefully no one else jumps on the half-bald hairstyle bandwagon...actually. Beyonce may need to change it up. It'll do wonders for her career ;-)
