Lara's Transformation

When I first saw this cover of September's French Vogue, I starred at it for a VERY long time. I tried to identify the model but I just could not recall the name. I began wondering who is this Natalie Portman look alike and why would Carine Roitfeld give her the September cover? Well silly, easily confused ol' me. It was none other than Lara Stone. Ok. We all know Lara. What is she most famous for? Three things 1) Bleached blonde hair 2) Barely there blonde eyebrows and of course, 3) Her gap. But on this cover, none of those things were on display. Darken locks, shapely eyebrows and pursed lips were staring up at me.
Here's Lara one the cover of last month's W magazine. It's the Lara we all know and love:

So I shall leave you with some amazing shots of her:

She can't do that with brown hair!

W's Muse
"Kate has been our muse...for the simple reason that there are so many aspects to Kate’s personality. She’s a woman, she’s a child, she’s a tomboy, she’s very sexual, she’s smart, she’s funny, she’s good, she’s bad."- W magazine's Creative Director Dennis Freedman
Some people are quick to place the label of Muse on the current "IT" girl. But others are wise enough to understand that it should only be reserved for amazing individuals whose influence is palpable throughout a specific field. Andy Warhol had Edie Sedgwick. Marc has Sofia Coppala. And Karl Lagerfeld, currently, has too many to name. But those are artists. They're expected to have muses. Very rarely does a magazine admit to a specific person being their muse. But by putting supermold Kate Moss on the cover of the September issue, they have proven that, in fact, Kate reigns supreme:
So in honor of Kate's 23rd W cover, here are some W magazine covers w/ marvelous Moss.

And these are just 9 out of 23 covers. Gotta love her.
P.S. She's actually also on the cover of Russian Vogue's September issue:

I think she answers the age old debate on whether fashion magazines should have models or actress on their covers. Models FTW!

This is hands down my favorite (November 2005):
