Leighton's Emmy Dress Done Better

Spotted Leighton's Bottega Veneta Emmy dress on the amazing Eva Herzigova in Paris Vogue's October 2009 issue.

I still love the dress, but just not on Leighton. Why does everything always look better on a model??

Carine, Carine

Great article about the influence of Carine Roitfeld (editor of French Vogue):

Anna channels Annie

Annie Hall is one of the funniest. movies. ever. Woody Allen's masterpiece starred Diane Keaton, who's movie wardrobe is a direct reason for the popularity of menswear amongst women. Her character, Annie Hall, wore pantsuits, ties, and fedoras but still made it all feminine. Here's Anna Jagodzinska trying to do her best Annie Hall impression in September's French Vogue:

Loves it.

Blondie Love

So Blondie played a free concert in Brooklyn last week. My brother and father were pretty excited but I couldn't go (work is evil). So anyways, they had a grand ol' time. But luckily, I just came across this French Vogue editorial featuring Raquel Zimmerman (the one and only). She channels Blondie to perfection:

(If only I could afford this jacket. Urban Outfitters has a similar version right now)

So yea. I decided the 80s are my favorite fashion decade. 'Too Cool For School' is what it was.

Lara's Transformation

When I first saw this cover of September's French Vogue, I starred at it for a VERY long time. I tried to identify the model but I just could not recall the name. I began wondering who is this Natalie Portman look alike and why would Carine Roitfeld give her the September cover? Well silly, easily confused ol' me. It was none other than Lara Stone. Ok. We all know Lara. What is she most famous for? Three things 1) Bleached blonde hair 2) Barely there blonde eyebrows and of course, 3) Her gap. But on this cover, none of those things were on display. Darken locks, shapely eyebrows and pursed lips were staring up at me.

Here's Lara one the cover of last month's W magazine. It's the Lara we all know and love:
I will say that I love a good transformation and the Vogue cover looks amazing, but I'll take blonde Lara over brunette Lara any day. Some may disagree with me, but brunette Lara could easily get lost in the sea of dark-haired models.

So I shall leave you with some amazing shots of her:

She can't do that with brown hair!

Anja Rubik's 3rd Vogue Cover

The amazing Anja. You've seen this Polish supermodel everywhere, most notably in this Gucci ad:

This September, Anja scored her 3rd Vogue cover of the year. It's for the German edition:

I like it but I must say my favorite Anja cover has got to be her June 2009 French Vogue cover:

I'm a sucker for a killer cat-eye. It makes me want to try liquid eyeliner again.

Oh, her second Vogue was for the Japanese edition.

P.S. Her and Rihanna are sort of convincing me to join the short-hair movement.
