Fashion Week Review: Part Two!

Part Two. Here we go:

Helmut Lang
gave us well made, intricate pieces:

America's new favorite designer, Jason Wu, basically provided The First Lady with a new wardrobe. But he also went younger, which I thought was the right direction:

Boy by Band of Outsider crossed the Atlantic Ocean from their Fall 2009 collection and ended up on a California beach:

Alexander Wang's bestie, Erin Wasson lives and dies by hipsterdom. And hipster chic is what she showed at the Erin Wasson x RVCA:

Jenni Kayne simple Spring pieces would fit perfectly in anyone's closet. Btw, the last outfit would look perfect on Rachel Bilson:

Are you cool? Are you hip? Then you'd love Nicole Miller's collection:

Part Three, coming soon!

Fashion Week Review: Part One

So a couple of designers have shown in the last three days. Here are some of my favorite looks:

ADAM made that adorable blue romper that Blake Lively wore to a CW event that I loved. Well all his other looks are equally cute. I would easily wear every piece (including the shoes) from his new collection...but I will say there wasn't much innovation. But oh well, I guess he sticks to what he does well (making pretty, breezy, sexy clothing):

BCBG Max Axria decided that all we need in life is a short colorful dress. I must say, I agree:

The last time I mentioned Charlotte Ronson, I discussed her collaboration with JcPenny...Part Deux. Now she's back with her actual line and let me say, it was perfect. In her first JcPenny collection, Ronson was obsessed with the 9os now she's letting the 80s reign free with her Charlotte Ronson collection:

(I want this whole outfit ASAP)

Over at L.A.M.B., Gwen Stefani also kept up with the 80s trend and did the rocker-chic effortlessly:

Monique Lhuiller was one of my favs last year (except for the shoes) but this year she disappointed me. Yes it was just a simple presentation w/ fewer pieces but some of the pieces were lacking and what was the deal with all those straw hats?? I pictured a rich South African socialite partying with these frocks on. But alas, here are some of the outfits that stood out:

Cynthia Rowley
decided that the Mad Men fad needed a naughty, dark twist. And she succeeded:

Part Two is coming right up!

Fashion Week Starts Today

So for the next week and a half, all my posts will center around Fashion Week in NYC. The first post is a pic of the always stylish mom, Gwen Stefani at L.A.M.B's Spring 2010 presentation. Perfect fall look w/ the pop of neon. I love it.:

Btw, sorry for not updating frequently. School started last week. But, I promise, I will be posting much more these next couple of days. I hope you all enjoy Fashion Week.

"Greed Is Good"

So over the Labor Day weekend I did some movie watching. I finally saw Iron Man and Confessions of a Shopaholic (IM was great...Confessions was so-so but still cute!) But I also watched a movie that I've been dying to see for so long: Wall Street. Great great great movie. The quote "Greed is good" is from the character Gordon Gekko who is an unscrupulous Wall Street honcho. The movie is pretty void of fashionable pieces (Darryl Hannah is in the movie but I did not like her character so I didn't take time to review any of her outfits). But I came across this editorial from Numero Toyko magazine and these girls/outfits would have fit right into the ostentatious 80s set movie:

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of these individual pieces (except #5) but I can appreciate them. Here, I will leave you with Gordon Gekko's infamous "Greed is Good" speech:
