Beyonce Does Daywear??

I'm not going to beat around the bush. You know I dislike Beyonce and her mother (Miss Tina Knowles!). I am utterly shocked that House of Dereon has not filed for bankruptcy yet because I have never (ever ever ever) seen anyone wear their clothing in my life. But despite this, the Knowles keep on trucking along, promoting their hideous line and even branching out into kid's clothing last year. Well now, they've decided to add daywear to their repertoire...and guys, let me tell you it's not too bad. One outfit is actually pretty aesthetically pleasing. Shocked? I know. I was too. Here are three outfits from their soon to be released House of Dereon daywear collection:

(It's a pretty dress but the material looks cheap and this outfit is not styled properly. Also, do they not own a steamer?)

(I'm definitely NOT feeling this jacket. I wonder what kind of dress is under that monstrosity.)

Isn't it sad that I can only rave about one outfit but still consider this a success? Sad indeed.

Tyra's REAL Hair

And I don't mean "I bought it, so it's really mine" hair. No. I mean she's going to rock her God given hair on September 8th. And she decided to call that day "National Real Hair Day"...*sigh*. I guess she's taking some notes from Solange who recently shaved off all her hair in order to show that black women should not be slaves to their weaves and long hair (btw, Solange slapped a wig on her bald head the same day she shaved it off....so much for not being a slave to long hair) But anyways. This is HUGE news. Has anyone ever seen Tyra's real hair? Some of us have seen her with her cornrows:But I mean, has anyone seen her with her hair out. I am kind of excited. Now if only Beyonce follows suit and gets rid of her lace-front wig nonesense:
I am very proud of Tyra. There have been tons of rumors out that she sleeps in her wigs because she says there's a certain image that she thinks she must maintain. So with this and Chris Rock's Good Hair movie, I hope black women learn to love their real hair. I will take note too ;-)

Beyonce...It All Makes Sense Now

Found this video on nymag.com. It's a gem. Basically they spotted this futuristic, two-toned hair having, gender-bending, black man (with a cinched waist!) roaming the streets of New York City. They decided they HAD to interview him for their Look Book segment. He revealed that he previously styled Beyonce and some other random celebrities. But guys, let's focus on the fact that he styled Beyonce. When he revealed this, everything just clicked in my brain. I'm going to steal Oprah's quote and admit that I had an "AHA moment!". He's a hot mess...Beyonce's a hot mess. Makes sense. So the mystery of why Beyonce dresses the way she does has been solved.
